A bit more chassis welding…. 2 metres of it

Not as much done today as could have been. Slightly distracted by the need to get some new tyres fitted up onto some refurbished wheels for Lyn’s L200.

Anyway, not bad considering the size of the plate made and welded in. 1m long.

James managed to get a couple of pictures of me welding too.

Had a strange spluttering from the welder first thing, even though none of the settings were any different to yesterday and there was plenty of gas flow. Hence why one or two sections aren’t the prettiest, but they’re solid.

  1. Good work. I can’t weld to save my life so I am always impressed by those that can. That is a big patch!

    1. Thank you, yes, bigger than I would normally do, but in this case, the best way to deal with such a large amount of damage.

  2. Nice bit of welding Mr Burt. ๐Ÿ™‚ That is as already said a BIG patch, but will definitely add extra strength to the Chassis, coming along nicely. ๐Ÿ˜‰
